On Thursday morning, May 25, 2023, from 09:00 a.m. at the White Building, Chamcar Mon State Palace, the Constitutional Council held a plenary session under the high chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Kittinitekorsalbandit IM Chhun Lim, President of the Constitutional Council, to examine and rule on: 1. The Petition of the Candlelight Party, contesting the Decision No. 233 N.E.C.D of May 15, 2023 of the National Elections Committee, and demanding that the National Elections Committee admit its registration and its lists of candidates standing for the election of Members of the National Assembly for the 7th Legislature in 2023 with 25 (twenty-five) constituencies in the Capital and Provinces. 2. The Petition of the Khmer United Great Nation Party, requesting the Constitutional Council to examine and rule on the possibility of admitting its registration and its lists of candidates standing for the election of Members of the National Assembly for the 7th Legislature in 2023. Following the session, the Constitutional Council decided as follows: 1. The Petition dated May 19, 2023, of TEAV Vannol, HONG Sochua and Kim Sour Phirith, representatives of the Candlelight Party, is admissible for its legal form, but is rejected for being unfounded. 2- The Petition dated May 22, 2023 of HEANG Kim Sroeun, acting president of the Khmer United Great Nation Party is admissible for its legal form, but is rejected for being unfounded.
