On Wednesday morning, September 27, 2023, at the conference hall of the Office of the Constitutional Council, White Building, Chamcar Mon State Palace, H.E. Mr. HY Sophea, Member of the Constitutional Council and High Representative of H.E. Mr. Kittinitekorsalbandit IM Chhun Lim, President of the Constitutional Council, chaired a meeting with Representatives of the Royal Government led by H.E. Mr. LAM Chea, Minister in charge of Secretariat of State for Border Affairs, who came to clarify some points relating on the Law on the Establishment of the Secretariat of State for Border Affairs, after the Constitutional Council received on September 22, 2023, the request of Samdech Moha Rotsapheathikathipadei KHUON Sudary, President of the National Assembly, aiming to control the constitutionality of the Law on the Establishment of the Secretariat of State for Border Affairs. The invitation of the relevant stakeholders to provide clarifications is provided for by Article 21 of the Law on the Organization and Functioning of the Constitutional Council, stipulating that in case of necessity, the Constitutional Council has the right to request clarifications or documents from the institutions concerned.
