On Thursday morning, November 09, 2023, H.E. Mr. Kittinitekorsalbandit IM Chhun Lim, President of the Constitutional Council, and Members of the Constitutional Council, accompanied His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to preside over the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of National Independence Day, November 09, and also the Anniversary founding of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) at the Independence Monument and at the place of the Royal Palace. On the occasion, the monarch lighted the victory flame, which will be kept burning for three days until November 11, 2023. It should be noted that November 09 is a historical day marked by the obtaining by the Kingdom of Cambodia of its full independence from France following the royal crusade of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM Sihanouk, Heroic King, Father of Independence, Territorial Integrity and Unity of the Khmer Nation “Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh”, who sacrificed his strength and intelligence in his royal mission for the motherland and the Khmer people.
